Milk Stand Training

Service Description

Must have a doe in milk. Doe must be tested clean for CAE, CL, and Johnes. Milking is best learned on a doe with a full udder, so if you have a doe with kid please pull the kid 3-4 hours prior to milking. Please make sure the kid is 3+ weeks old before pulling for that long, time between feedings increases with age and we don't want to harm the sensitive digestive system of a young kid. Once milk stand training is done we will reintroduce the kid. If your doe does not have a kid please make sure she is fresh and her udder fills. If she is already drying off the techniques may not be teachable. Must be within 35 minutes of Choctaw, Oklahoma. Milk stand and supplies provided for demonstration only. Udder balm and teat dip are free to keep by goat owner (for sanitary reasons, udder balm and teat dip are new at the time of training and left with the goat they were used on). Cancellations must be made 48+ hours in advance or payment may not be refunded.
